Ephrem was born and raised in Addis Ababa. He studied psychology at Gonder University before attending Teferi Mekonene Poly Technic College of Fine Arts. Since graduating he is a full time studio artists.
He has worked with a range of artistic media including painting, print making, wood cuts, collage and installation. Ephrem finds inspiration from traditional Ethiopian scenes like playing music. He attempts to convey the essence of love, beauty and togetherness. He enjoys working with vibrant colors to implicate the energy involved.
