Fikreyesus Nega

Fikreyesus was born and raised in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from Addis Ababa University, where he developed a strong foundation in both traditional and contemporary artistic practices. Now 38 years old, Fikreyesus is a full-time studio artist who continues to live and work in Addis Ababa.

His work is deeply rooted in Ethiopian culture and spirituality. He is particularly known for his vibrant use of color and his intricate depictions of the diverse crosses associated with the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. Each cross, unique in its design and symbolism, becomes a central element in his compositions, reflecting both his artistic vision and his connection to Ethiopia’s rich religious heritage. Through his art, Fikreyesus explores themes of faith, identity, and tradition, offering a contemporary interpretation of timeless symbols.
