Henok Yetbarek

Henok grew up in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s vibrant capital, where the rhythm of urban life became a lasting source of inspiration for his art. He earned his degree in Fine Arts from Addis Ababa University and has been dedicated to painting for over 16 years.

Henok’s work draws heavily from the energy and movement of city life. He often focuses on historic and culturally significant locations within the community—places that hold collective memories and reflect the evolving identity of the urban landscape. His style leans toward impressionism, characterized by expressive brushwork and an emphasis on capturing the essence and atmosphere of a scene rather than precise details.

For Henok, art is more than a personal pursuit—it is a tool for community engagement. He believes that the true value of art lies in its ability to spark creativity and foster innovation within society. Through his work, he aims to inspire others to see the beauty in their surroundings and to imagine new possibilities for the future.
