Tedros Taddese

Tedros was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He graduated from the School of Fine Arts at Addis Ababa University, where he developed a strong foundation in painting and visual expression. Tedros works as a full-time studio artist and continues to live and create in Addis Ababa.

Growing up in the Arat Kilo area, Tedros was deeply influenced by the local church community and the rich spiritual and artistic traditions that surrounded him. This early exposure nurtured his fascination with the symbolism and design of the cross—a motif that has become central to his artistic identity.
Tedros’s work explores the cross in its many forms, reflecting both personal faith and cultural heritage. He experiments with different styles and techniques, often incorporating mixed media to create texture, depth, and visual contrast. Through his paintings, Tedros reimagines the cross not only as a sacred emblem but also as a dynamic symbol of unity, resilience, and beauty.
